Love Conquerers All

I have to believe this to be true otherwise I'll continue to wallow in the dark fogginess of yesterdays post. It's left me feeling so deeply sad  and it refuses to leave me alone. So when all looks dark and gloomy, gets some Shakespeare. I need a life affirming truth the world is a good place, despite some of its unspeakable horrors.
----------------------------------------------

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
Oh, no! it is an ever-fixéd mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come'
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

  1. That is one of my fave Shakespeare passages. Beautiful.
    Love mends everything. And some day when everyone awakens from this nightmare-- we will bask in light and love forever. And all the pain of this life will fade and seem insignificant.(=

  2. Shakespeare is awesome, this is so deep! I was really touched reading your Congo post yesterday but was using a phone and could not make any comments.
