Who do you write like?

I went visiting over at Story Book World this weekend and found the most fantastic link to an analytical tool (http://iwl.me/). It analyses a piece of your writing and tells you who you write like. I haven't written a book yet so I chose 4 bits I've written and it gave me 4 different authors that I supposedly write like. I have a book I'm working in so I wonder what it will say then? I'm a very honored schizophrenic if this is any indication of the kind of stuff i'll create in the end.

PS! I wrote this post the weekend so when I wrote the He whispered a day later and submitted, it said I write like Charles Dickens, I'm a lunatic. A happy one but a loony nonetheless.

Try it out. This is way cool. Tell me what you got, if you one of the lucky one's you'll be consistent.

  1. Hmm... I think my style varies between my projects. I got Dickens. :-/

You got some interesting names. Particularly Poe. :-)

  2. I got HP Lovecraft and David Foster Wallace out of the two I sampled. I'm not sure how I feel about H.P., though. How did you feel about your answers?

  3. Hey TL, I've never read James Jones and Mary Shelley, I love the Poe and Dickens comparison because they have a fascinating way with words. I'm not sure about Dan Brown and I'm ashamed to admit that I"m one of two people who haven't read him.
